Botox & Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Botox — botulinum toxin — relaxes the specific muscles that fold the skin each time you frown, squint or raise your brows. Over years, those repeated folds become permanent lines. Relaxing the muscle softens the line that already exists and slows the one forming underneath.

What it treats
Most commonly the frown lines between the brows, horizontal forehead lines, and crow's feet at the outer eyes. It is also used to soften a gummy smile, lift the brow slightly, reduce chin dimpling, and slim a heavy jaw muscle in people who clench or grind.
How it is done
A consultation first, to watch how your face actually moves — this matters more than any fixed injection map. Treatment itself takes ten to fifteen minutes using a very fine needle. Most people describe it as a brief sting. No anaesthetic is needed and you can drive yourself home.
Results and timing
Movement begins to soften from day three, with the full effect at two weeks. Results last roughly three to four months, sometimes longer once you have had several treatments. A review appointment follows at two weeks, so any asymmetry can be balanced.
Common questions
Will Botox make me look frozen?
Not if it is dosed properly. The aim is to soften the line while leaving you able to express yourself. Dr. Hussein deliberately errs on the conservative side and adds more at your two-week review if needed — you cannot remove product once it is placed, but you can always add.
How much does Botox cost?
It depends on the areas treated and the dose your muscles need, so the cost is set out after assessment, in a written plan — before anything is done, and with no pressure to decide on the day.
I have a wedding or an occasion coming up. How far ahead should I book Botox?
At least two weeks, and longer if you can. The full effect takes two weeks to settle, and if a small top-up is added at the two-week review, it also needs time to take full effect before the occasion.
Is there downtime after Botox?
None in practical terms. Small raised bumps at the injection points settle within twenty minutes, and occasional minor bruising can be covered with make-up after a few hours. Avoid lying flat, exercising or rubbing the area for the rest of the day.
Does Botox have side effects, and who should not have it?
Side effects are usually mild and temporary — a small bruise or a brief headache, and occasionally a temporary drop of the brow or eyelid that settles as the effect wears off. It is not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or to people with certain neuromuscular conditions; your medical history is checked at consultation.
