Lifting & Tightening

Ultherapy

Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to deposit heat at precise depths beneath the skin, including the muscular layer a surgeon tightens during a facelift. That controlled injury triggers contraction and new collagen. It has built-in ultrasound imaging, so the tissue can be seen on screen while it is treated.

What it treats

Mild to moderate laxity of the brow, jawline, under-chin and neck, and lines on the décolletage. It suits people whose skin has begun to descend but who are not ready for surgery. It does not work on severe sagging, and it is not a fat reduction treatment.

How it is done

Ultrasound gel and a handpiece, working systematically over the treatment area while the doctor watches the imaging to confirm depth. Sixty to ninety minutes for a full face and neck. It is uncomfortable — a deep, hot, prickling sensation in bursts — and pain relief is offered beforehand.

Results and timing

Some immediate tightening, but the meaningful lift builds over three to six months as collagen remodels. Results generally last a year or more. Most patients repeat annually.

Common questions

Is Ultherapy painful?

Honestly, yes — more than most treatments here. Each pulse is brief and tolerable, and oral pain relief and topical anaesthetic make a real difference. Depth and energy can be adjusted if you are finding it difficult.

Will Ultherapy replace a facelift?

No. It is a genuine lift, but a modest one. If your laxity is advanced, Ultherapy is unlikely to give you the change you want, and surgery may serve you better.
