Cosmeceuticals & Medical Skincare
What you do at home every day matters more than what happens in a clinic every few months. Cosmeceuticals are formulations with active ingredients at concentrations that change how skin behaves — retinoids, vitamin C, tyrosinase inhibitors, prescription pigment agents — rather than simply sitting on the surface.

What a regimen addresses
Pigmentation and melasma, acne, early ageing and fine lines, barrier damage and sensitivity, and preparation of the skin before procedures. Priming with the right topicals for several weeks beforehand measurably improves the outcome of peels and resurfacing, and lowers the risk of pigmentation afterwards.
Why prescribing matters
Active ingredients interact, and more is frequently worse. Retinoid strength has to be built up, acids and retinoids often should not be layered, and some pigment agents require supervised breaks. Most patients arriving with irritated, sensitised skin are using good products in a bad combination.
Sun protection in the Gulf
No topical regimen works here without daily broad-spectrum sun protection, reapplied. UV exposure in Bahrain is high year-round and is a major driver of pigmentation and photoageing. This is not an upsell — it is the part of the plan that determines whether the rest of it works.
Common questions
Do I need medical-grade products, or will pharmacy ones do?
For general maintenance, a good pharmacy routine with sunscreen, a retinoid and vitamin C does most of the work. For melasma, resistant acne or significant photoageing, prescription-strength actives make a genuine difference.
Will I be sold a full range?
No. You will be given a regimen with a specific reason for each item, and told what you can buy at a pharmacy rather than from a clinic.
Before you book. This page is general information, not medical advice. Whether this treatment suits you can only be decided at a consultation, after assessment. All procedures carry risks, which will be explained in full beforehand.
