Dermal Fillers
Faces age by losing volume and structure, not only by wrinkling. Fat pads shrink, bone recedes slightly, and the soft tissue that remains descends. Hyaluronic acid fillers replace that lost support. Placed well, they make a face look rested, not treated.

What it treats
Flattened cheeks, deepening nasolabial folds, marionette lines, a weak or receding chin, an undefined jawline, thin or asymmetric lips, and hollowing under the eyes. Under-eye treatment is technically demanding and is not appropriate for everyone.
How it is done
Assessment of the whole face first — the place that looks hollow is often not the place that needs treating. Filler is placed with either a needle or a blunt cannula depending on the area, under topical anaesthetic. Most products also contain lidocaine. Expect thirty to forty-five minutes.
Results and timing
Immediate, though swelling means you should not judge the outcome for two weeks. Depending on the product and site, results last twelve to eighteen months. Hyaluronic acid fillers are reversible — they can be dissolved with an enzyme if you are unhappy or if there is a complication.
Common questions
Will fillers look obvious?
It comes down to restraint: a natural result comes from respecting proportion, not from chasing volume. Dr. Hussein treats conservatively and in stages, and will decline to place more product when the face does not need it.
How much do fillers cost?
It depends on the areas treated and how much product your face actually needs, so the cost is set out after assessment, in a written plan — before anything is done, and with no pressure to decide on the day.
I have a wedding or an occasion coming up. How far ahead should I book fillers?
At least two weeks beforehand. Swelling means the result should not be judged for two weeks, so leave that time before the occasion.
What are the risks of dermal fillers?
Bruising and swelling are common and temporary. The serious risk, though rare, is filler entering a blood vessel and blocking it, which requires immediate recognition and treatment. This is why Dr. Hussein injects filler himself: so that, if it ever happens, it is recognised and treated at once.
