Thread Lift
A thread lift uses absorbable barbed sutures passed under the skin to physically reposition tissue that has descended, then anchor it. The threads dissolve over months, leaving behind a collagen framework along their path. Unlike energy-based treatments, it repositions tissue rather than tightening it in place.

What it treats
Descended mid-face, early jowls, a blurred jawline, and a heavy brow. It suits patients with mild to moderate sagging and reasonable skin quality. It is less effective in heavy faces or where laxity is advanced — in those cases it tends to produce a short-lived result and disappointment.
How it is done
Local anaesthetic at entry points, threads introduced on a fine cannula along planned vectors, then tissue eased upward and the threads secured. Forty-five to sixty minutes. Most people feel pulling rather than pain.
Results and timing
Immediate lift, though it will look slightly overcorrected at first and settles over two to three weeks. Some tightness and dimpling at entry points during that period. Results typically last twelve to eighteen months.
Common questions
What happens when the threads dissolve?
The threads absorb over six to nine months but the collagen laid down along them persists, which is why the result outlasts the material. When it eventually fades the tissue returns to its natural position — it does not sag further than it would have.
Can I combine it with filler?
Yes, and it is often the better plan. Threads reposition tissue; filler restores lost volume. Choosing one when you needed the other is a common reason for disappointment with either.
