Radiesse

Radiesse is calcium hydroxylapatite suspended in a gel. It does two things at once — provides immediate structural support like a firm filler, then stimulates collagen as the carrier gel is absorbed and the microspheres remain.

What it treats

Jawline definition, mid-face support, and the backs of the hands, where it is particularly effective at disguising prominent veins and tendons. Diluted and used more superficially, it also tightens skin on the neck, décolletage and upper arms.

How it is done

Injected with needle or cannula depending on the area and whether it is being used for structure or for skin tightening. Around thirty minutes. Mixed with lidocaine for comfort.

Results and timing

Immediate lift from the gel, then a second phase of improvement from collagen over two to three months. Typically lasts twelve to eighteen months.

Common questions

Is Radiesse reversible?

No — and this is the important difference from hyaluronic acid fillers. There is no dissolving agent. It must be placed correctly the first time, which is why careful assessment and placement matter.

Can it be used in lips?

No. Radiesse is not suitable for lips and should not be used there.
