CoolSculpting Fat Freezing
Cryolipolysis cools fat cells to a temperature that destroys them, a temperature at which skin, nerves and muscle are far less affected — fat crystallises at a higher temperature than surrounding tissue. The damaged cells are then cleared by the body over several weeks. Those specific cells do not return.

What it treats
Discrete pockets of fat that persist despite diet and exercise: lower abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, bra line, upper arms, and under the chin. It is a contouring treatment for people near their target weight — not a weight-loss treatment, and not a treatment for loose skin.
How it is done
An applicator draws the fat pocket into a cooled cup and holds it for thirty-five to seventy-five minutes. Intense cold for the first few minutes, then numbness — most patients read or work through it. The area is massaged afterwards, which is briefly uncomfortable.
Results and timing
Slow. Change begins around week four and completes at around three months, with roughly a 20–25% reduction in fat thickness in the treated pocket per session. Many areas need two sessions for the result people want.
Common questions
Will the fat come back?
The treated cells are gone permanently. But the remaining fat cells elsewhere can still enlarge if you gain weight, so the result holds only alongside a stable weight.
Are there risks?
Temporary numbness and bruising are common. There is a rare complication called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, where the treated area enlarges instead of shrinking — uncommon, but you should know it exists before consenting.
