Microneedling
Microneedling creates thousands of controlled micro-injuries in the skin. Each one triggers a wound-healing response that lays down new collagen without damaging the surface in the way a laser does. The result is gradual remodelling of texture and scarring.

What it treats
Acne scarring — particularly rolling and boxcar scars — enlarged pores, fine lines, and general textural irregularity. It also improves how well topical treatments penetrate, which is why active ingredients are often applied during the session.
How it is done
Topical anaesthetic for thirty to forty-five minutes, then a motorised pen passes over the skin at a depth set for the area and the problem. Around thirty minutes of treatment. A course of three to six sessions, four weeks apart, is standard for scarring.
Results and timing
Redness like mild sunburn for one to two days, occasionally with light flaking. Texture improves within a few weeks; scar remodelling builds across the course and for several months afterwards.
Common questions
Is microneedling suitable for darker skin?
Generally, yes — this is one of its main advantages. Because it does not rely on light energy absorbed by pigment, the hyperpigmentation risk is considerably lower than with ablative lasers, though not absent.
How does microneedling compare with Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 adds radiofrequency heat, so it reaches deeper and tightens as well as resurfaces. Standard microneedling is gentler and has less downtime. For significant scarring with laxity, Morpheus8 usually does more.
